Verse Of The Week : 28 Mar 2022

March 27, 2022

James 4:14
“Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.”

Have you heard of the ‘VUCA’ world?
It describes the world as volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous.
As we go through these 2 years of pandemic, the food shortage and now the wars, we are assured and reminded that nothing in this world is secure and sure.
Should we be worrying about tomorrow?
Do we believe that God is in control and that He will take care of us?
What is life to you?

God reminded us on many occasion in His word about the brevity of life.
Life is short.
Life is unpredictable.
Life is fragile.
However, life has a purpose and in the little time we have before we vanish, we need to make it count for Jesus.
The only thing that is certain is our physical death and the overcoming of death by Jesus.
We can be certain of an imperishable inheritance.
We can be certain that nothing separates God’s love from His children.
We can be certain that the word of God will never fade away.
We can be certain that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Our lives are in the hands of God, the alpha and omega.
To live must be Christ, and to die is gain.
We do not need to know what exactly happens tomorrow, but we do need to know the One who knows it all.

Hold on lightly to the things of this world, live fully for Christ and be driven by eternity.
