Verse Of The Week : 3 Jun 2024

June 3, 2024

”For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

Ephesians 2:10

I love stories.
Stories are just amazing because of their uniqueness in each of the plots and characters found in them.
I love to read and hear stories and I love to share with others about stories I know too.
Recently I met up with a father, a first-time meeting and we both shared about our lives.
It was a heartfelt exchange of conversations and we were both intrigued with each other’s life story.

Well, isn’t it true?
We all are LIVE stories, being played out day by day, but beautifully crafted and written by a heavenly author, a master at work in writing out millions and millions of stories through the generations.
Jesus is the author and perfecter of our faith.

Every champion has a story.
Every Olympian has a story.
Every runner-up has a story.
Every athlete has a story.
Every child has a story,
Everyone has a story.

Every medal is linked to a story.
Every failure becomes part of a story.
Every time one loses, it changes the story.
Every injury leads to a new story.
Every relationship links to another story.
Every moment in life adds on to a story.

Our journey in life is all but stories that our Heavenly Father has drafted and written well before any decisions made knowing how each story will ultimately end.
He is the master planner and content creator, awaiting for us all, as humanity realised who the author of our lives is once we are in Christ.

We are a New Creation in Christ and we are all given a new heart.
With that comes new desires, character, values and purposes.
As God progressively renews us from the inside-out, our stories continue to be written but now in reconciliation and recognition of a spiritual family that we belong to.

We are in partnership with God and His people daily as our stories are being written.
God loves stories, especially those written about His children and those that brings back glory to Himself.
Every story is unique and different, yet each has a redeeming element to it which displays God’s unconditional love and sovereignty.

Today, who is writing your story?

  • Have you truly surrendered your life to God, allowing Him to direct your paths?
How can you pass the authorship to God?
  • What type of stories do you want to tell others, your children or the next generation about your own life?
One that is God-glorifying or self-glorifying?
  • How can your heart-change prepare you for the good works that God has prepared for you in order for God stories to be written?
