Run with the Word
READY:
I trust in you with all my heart. Don’t let me wander away from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart so that I won’t sin against you.
Psalm 119:10-11
SET:
Were there times in your life that you wandered away from the plans of God?
How many times have you wandered away from doing what is right in God’s eyes?
It is easy to say ‘I’m sorry’, to compromise on the word of God or be ignorant of what truly matters to God.
Sometimes it’s not about just doing wrong but about not doing it right.
There is a way to counter against us wandering away from the commandments of God.
It is to pursue God, seek Him with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.
It is to constantly draw near to His presence and abide in Him.
There is a way not to sin against the Lord.
It is to store His word in our hearts, treasure it and apply it in our lives over and over again.
Hiding His word in our hearts require one to be a doer and not just a listener.
The word of God is like fuel for us to keep running our lives.
Don’t ever give it an opportunity to reach an empty tank.
Keep refuelling daily and always have excess of it.
Let the word of God be activated in your life.
Use it, speak it, pray with it and ensure that your life is aligned to it.
Keep running, but only with the word!
GO:
- Take stock of your life. Have you been wandering away from God’s commandments? What is causing you to do that?
- List down a few ways of how you can hide God’s word in your heart and start asking God to help you do it daily.
