Verse Of The Week : 28 Nov 2022

November 28, 2022

“Let me add this, dear brothers: You already know how to please God in your daily living, for you know the commands we gave you from the Lord Jesus himself. Now we beg you—yes, we demand of you in the name of the Lord Jesus—that you live more and more closely to that ideal.”

1 Thessalonians 4:1

One of the vital driving force that forms the bedrock of why we do what we do as a believer is a desire to please the Lord in all we think and act upon.
The righteous shall live by faith, Amen? And we all know that without faith, it is impossible to please God.

All of God’s commandments given to us is to direct and teach us how we ought to live our lives in God’s Kingdom. However, do you know that you can follow God’s commandment and not please Him?
You can stay away from sin and not please Him?

His word says that when we live by our flesh, we are not pleasing God.
When we are not doing God’s will, it will not be pleasing to Him as well.
When we are not pursuing a life of purpose or not expressing gratitude to God for our salvation through the life we live, then we are not pleasing Him too.

Apostle Paul urges us to make every effort and work towards that excellence in pleasing God, such that it becomes a DNA of why we live and how we live.

Food for thought: How do you please your physical father’s heart?
