God’s Glory Reconciles: God has Qualified You

READY:

But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” He said, “But I will be with you…”

Exodus 3:11-12

SET:
There is this incredible pattern throughout the Bible of God choosing unexpected individuals to carry out His divine plan in this world.
In each of these stories, God promised to be with them, giving each of them the ability to fulfill what He called them to do.

Have you ever had a moment where you didn’t feel qualified to do something, yet have stepped into that position, whether willingly or unwillingly?
Even when it comes to our training for running and races, perhaps you signed up for something and don’t feel ready to compete quite yet!

God doesn’t always call the equipped, but He certainly equips the called.
Jesus spoke in Matthew 4:19 saying to Peter and Andrew,

“Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

Matthew 4:19

The invitation Jesus gave was to follow Him.
Look at the promise He gave: “I will make you fishers of men.”
Jesus promises that He will make us.
He is the One who will mold us, shape us, train us, prepare us, and get us ready for what is ahead.
He will equip you and make you exactly who He wants you to be when you choose to follow Him.
Philippians 4:19 powerfully promises that

“…my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:19

What a source we have in Christ!

Perhaps you are reading this today and see that God is calling you to do something that is out of your comfort zone.
This is confirmation to follow His lead and let Him equip you.

“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”

2 Timothy 1:7)

God has qualified you for the task.
Do not disqualify yourself!
Remember, He is with you and promises to never leave you nor forsake you.

GO:

  1. Have you ever been disqualified in a race or competition? How did it feel?
  2. When is a moment in your life when you didn’t feel qualified to undertake a particular task? How did God equip you in that experience?
  3. How does Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross qualify us for eternal life? Have you received this gift and truly repented of your sins?
