1 Corinthians 11:28
“Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup.”
The context of this passage has to do with how we treat the Lord’s supper.
In actual fact, this is about us as God’s children, how we live our lives in relation to what Jesus has done on the cross.
How are you taking up your cross and following Jesus?
Have your checked your heart recently?
How have your thought life been?
Are your recent motives at work/home been pure and pleasing to the Lord?
Is there someone whom you are accountable to, who can check your blindspots?
Are there any hidden sins not confessed?
When was the last time you prayerfully examined your relationship with Christ?
Something we need to do regularly is to ask God to search our hearts because God knows us best, from the inside out, in its entirety.
Busyness and complacencies are the enemies of making it a habit to do an inventory check on our lives and our walk with God.
Remember that God is more interested in the journey than the destination.
He wants to see us grow in our spiritual maturity and ultimately see our lives changed according to His image.
