Verse Of The Week : 27 Feb 2023

…but the righteous gives and does not hold back.

Proverbs 21:26

Last week when I was on a run, there was a runner that was in my view ahead of me.
I decided to pick up the pace and work to catch up to him.
As I sought to shrink the gap between us with each step I took, I realized how I couldn’t hold anything back in order to accomplish this.
I also saw how this connected to being a Christian, and specifically a leader.
Shepherds have a responsibility to be spiritually focused, physically fit, and emotionally strong to best care for their flock.
If a sheep is straying or going into danger, shepherds need greater speed, endurance, motivation, and power to catch the sheep and get to the sheep in time.
When I was running and trying to catch up to that person who was in front of me, it required grit, focus and zeal, along with extra speed, strength, and endurance.
As a leader, we are called to be prepared and ready for action.
God is seeking to train His people in a way to become people who don’t hold anything back – that is, people who have a heart that gives everything fully for the sake of His Name and for others.
What are you holding back with that God is looking for you to fully commit to this week?
Step out today and begin to close the gap, for His glory alone.
