Be Open: God knows you best

“O Lord, you have searched me [thoroughly] and have known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up [my entire life and everything I do]; You understand my thought from afar. You scrutinize my path and my lying down, And You are intimately acquainted with all my ways. Even before there is a word on my tongue [still unspoken], Behold, O Lord, You know it all.”

Psalm 139:1-4

As a runner/athlete, usually we know best what to wear, when to train, how much to train etc.
And that is because we learn it over the years through a coach, teammates, a friend or family member or information that we read online about the sport that we do.
Well, today I would like to offer you a different set of training, a different set of training gear or a different approach to running e.g. natural barefoot running, would you be open?

When are we more open to suggestions and advices?
Do you really think that you know it all or you know best what is required for your current situation you are facing?

As I humbly stand still before the Lord, I realized that most of the time, instead of running towards a God who knows me best, I am finding ways to avoid being still and being open to God’s voice.
God only wants the best for you and He will make it all good and all working for you if you would be open to His ways and will (Romans 8:28).
He does that because He knows you and loves you intimately.

Intimacy with God is about knowing God, being known by Him and making Him known.

Did you get that?
Intimacy with God is what will drive you to be always open to Him!
If you truly embrace the fact that He knows you best and have the best of interests for you and your family, then openness will allow the depth of your intimacy with God to grow.

Do not give God your second-best attention or try to navigate your circumstances with your own wisdom and understanding.
Do not struggle with God anymore.
Can I urge you to give God an opportunity to enter the areas of your life that has been closed for the longest time?

  1. How can you grow your intimacy with God today through your openness with Him?
  2. Read and meditate through Psalm 139 and allow the Omniscience, Omnipresence and Omnipotence of God to be revealed to you.
  3. What are some ways to respond to a God who knows you best?
