Run Strategically!
READY
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run [their very best to win], but only one receives the prize? Run [your race] in such a way that you may seize the prize and make it yours!
1 Corinthians 9:24 AMP
SET:
The spirit of excellence has always been something that I embrace and I know that giving our 100% to the Lord in all we do is an attitude that the Lord desires.
However, if we read carefully to what Apostle Paul is saying in this verse, excellence might not be all that the Lord is asking of us.
Yes we need to give our best, but how can we run in such a way that we will emerge as champions and seize the prize?
A strategy is required!
Don’t get me wrong.
God is not asking that all of us come first at all cost, but to make effort in understanding the requirements of the race, our competitors and the approaches needed to win.
I believe that God is calling you and I to a higher call of understanding his heart for us to be both efficient and effective.
God is a planner, tactician and strategist!
His redemptive plan for mankind has been well-thought through right from the start, knowing how it will end (Isaiah 46:10).
Likewise, God desires that His children, through His word, will be wise in living out His Kingdom ways.
It’s about being effective for the kingdom of God.
There will be calculated risk, tactical approaches, strategic planning, intentional living and purposeful decision-making.
It’s about understanding how one can miss getting the prize and living our life with an ‘AIM’ in all we do.
There will be training, preparation, goal-setting, endurance and all that a coach will ask of an athlete to win the race. Therefore, let us make it our aim to run strategically, to please God through the way we live!
