Run in Step with the Spirit

“If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.”

Are you in step with the Spirit?
When you decide to go on a run with someone, wouldn’t it be a little strange if you decided to not run right next to them and instead run 20 steps behind or just sprint on ahead without them?
When you decide to go for a run with someone, you are making the decision to run together.
As a Christian, we are committed and called to run the race of life with God through His Spirit.
God calls us to keep in step with the Spirit and not speed ahead or lag behind His perfect leading and timing.
Here are some results as we keep in step with His Spirit.
Greater Clarity.
“You make known to me the path of life…”
Psalm 16:11a
Jesus is our GPS, that is, our Good Perfect Shepherd.
He has given us His Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth, to lead us in the directions He wants us to go, and to provide clarity when we need it.
Philippians 4:19 promises how God will supply every need of ours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
This includes clarity and direction as we journey through life.
Remember to walk in faith through it all.
Greater Joy.
“…in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
Psalm 16:11b
What a joy it is when you are in the presence of another and experience joy!
This is true with the Lord.
Staying in step with Him means receiving fullness of joy from His presence.
Greater Strength.
“I will strengthen you”
Isaiah 41:10
Two is better than one.
This is true on many levels in life.
Do you know that there is a kind of horse where the two horses together can carry three times as much weight, instead of twice as much weight, when they are in step together?
Through His Spirit in us, get ready to experience the strength you have that goes beyond what you could have ever imagined!
This is what the Lord is looking for with His people, that we are in step with Him and His leading.
When we are in step with another person and also His Spirit, there is a joyful, guiding strength that comes as a result.
