I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.
John 16:33
How are you running the race that God has marked out for you today?
Are you running in defeat or running like a victor?
God did not promise us a bed of roses as His children, but what He did promised is that there will be tribulations and challenging times.
How’s that for a God who loves us!
Well, the thing is, if we have the mentality that we can run like a victor in the kingdom of God without the guidance, assistance, leadership and submission to the King, then we really got it wrong.
Jesus have overcame the world.
He uttered “It is finished”.
In Christ we are overcomers.
The conquest has been accomplished.
There is an abiding victory.
We can either live our lives in perpetual turmoil and anxiousness or we can enter into that realm where we are anchored in God’s words, His peace and righteousness.
There is a living HOPE that we can hold on to.
Reminded of this song by Phil Wikham:
“Hallelujah, praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah, death has lost its grip on me
You have broken every chain
There’s salvation in Your name
Jesus Christ, my living hope”
The victory is His and also ours to claim.
