Matthew 24:36“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”
The doctrine of imminency is pertinent to our Christian life.
There is a prophetic significance and alignment to the Galilean wedding when Jesus spoke these words, among the many other occasions to His disciples who understood perfectly where He was coming from because of the culture they are from.
God is the one who decides the perfect time, to give the signal to His Son, our Bridegroom, to come and bring us back to the home He has been preparing for us.
The key is not to know when the day and hour because no one knows, but to embrace the why.
There is a purpose.
The Church, who is the Bride of Christ, needs to be prepared, to be actively occupying and engaging in the Father’s will, in anticipation of the return.
