Verse Of The Week : 19 Sept 2022

September 19, 2022

Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.

Acts 3:19

We all fall short of God’s glory.
Its not just a fact but its the truth that we are all the descendants of the first Adam, one with a corruptible condition, sinful and literally a living time-bomb that will self-destruct in due time.
The consequences of sin is death, not just physical death but eternal separation from God.
There is an expiry date for every one who is born of the flesh and outwardly, we are wasting away, deteriorating day by day.

The question is “Were we created for eternity?”

Absolutely. However, the very core of sin is disobedience, desiring to make decisions apart from God and doing life without first seeking the purposes of God.
That led to all humanity ending with a similar end point – Eternal death.
The good news is that there was a second Adam, who is the begotten Son of God, becoming the sacrificial lamb to die on the cross for the sins of humanity once and for all.
There is hope! Eternal life is once again available for those who believe.

So, the message to all stiff-necked people out there, including myself, we need to repent.
Repentance is not an end in itself.
Repent now, turn away from your sinful ways and turn to God if you have yet to receive salvation.
Repent now if you’ve not been walking faithfully and righteously with the Lord.
Repent now because this is part of the on-going journey of sanctification in becoming increasingly more obedient to the voice and will of God.

God is Holy, and so we need to be. Sin is synonymous with unholiness.
So repent now!
