Be Still: All About Being
READY
“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Psalm 46:10 (ESV)
SET
Before the year and work starts grinding, before you start ‘doing’ life or ministry, may I offer you some advice?
Be still.
Do not be like the fools who despise God’s wisdom and instructions (Proverbs 1:7).
Daily tasks will fill your schedules and personal agendas will command your attention soon.
With all you will be doing, you might find yourself burning out quickly.
God cares about your 2024.
He cares about all the good works that He has prepared for you.
In fact, He has great plans for you and your family.
But more importantly, He cares most about you, your being!
Being still is about knowing how to stop doing and start being.
Back to basics, back to core values, back to purpose, back to the whys, back to knowing who we are in Christ, what we have through Christ and how we can move forward with and through Christ.
Do not start your year without remembering how to be a child of God and making it a practice of being still before the Lord.
You will only truly know God and what His plans are for you when you are practice being still before Him.
Be still and allow Holy Spirit to lead you.
Be attentive to how God wants you to BE in the various roles you have this year.
Be it a coach, a parent, a spouse, a minister, a CEO, a worker etc., being is what determines the success of the doing thereafter!
GO
- When are your being still times?
If you have not, maybe you can practice being still now to think through this question, asking the Lord for guidance. - What is the Lord telling you about the year ahead? Have you asked him?
