Be Open: Anything can happen!

“And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.”

Luke 5:5 KJV

“God, I want to hear your voice!”
“What is your will for my life?”
“Lord, would you reveal your plans to me?”
“God, speak to me, direct me and lead me…”

Are some of these questions and remarks above relatable to you, in your own journey with the Lord?
It sure does to me.
And isn’t it true that we all desire to hear His voice, follow Him and be in His perfect will?
Well, the truth of the matter is that God desires His children to be TRULY OPEN to Him.
That simply means that I need to humble myself, be teachable and be bold in executing what the Lord is directing me in obedience.
Being still before the Lord is the only the first step, whilst being open is what will take you to the path that leads to miracles.

Peter was still enough to listen to Jesus. Then, he was opened to what Jesus advised him to do and that led to a MIRACLE!

“It was no sooner said than done—a huge haul of fish, straining the nets past capacity. They waved to their partners in the other boat to come help them. They filled both boats, nearly swamping them with the catch.”

Luke 6-7, MSG

Do you still believe in miracles and for the unexpected to happen?
Do you still believe in a God that can do anything and everything and that all things are possible with God?

God always has the final say!
The final report comes from Him and not the doctors, not the pastors, not your parents, not the government and not yourself.
The point I am trying to make is that we do not be discouraged or be filled with hopelessness just because of an information that comes from a source that is not from God.
Let God take His rightful place in the credibility and authority that He has when it comes to how we respond to any circumstances.

Isn’t Jesus the same yesterday, today and forever?

Just one more time folks!
Be open to God’s timing.
Peter fished the whole night and caught nothing.
However, when its God’s time, it will be a ‘miraculous catch’!
Miracles happen in God’s timing and God’s schedule is not based on our plans and fleshly responses to situations.

Just one more dip in the Jordan river and you will be healed (2 Kings 5:10).
Just one more trip to the sea to check the weather forecast (1 Kings 18:43-44).
Just one more round around the town of Jericho, give a shout and it will be destroyed (Joshua 6:16).
Just one more day before Jesus went back to Judea to raise Lazarus from the dead (John 11:6-7).

Are you open to just one more prayer; one more trip to visit your loved ones who is unwell; one more month of training; one more favour done out of your comfort zone?

Anything can happen if we are open to God and His leading through the Holy spirit!

  • What is something that the Lord is speaking to you/putting on your heart that you’re avoiding?
  • How can your openness to God bring you to another level of intimacy with Him?
  • Are you believing God for a miracle this season? Recommit your life to the Lord and yield your will to His with willingness and openness.
