Hebrews 11:3
“By faith…”
As believers of Christ, we are called and required to live by faith, not by sight.
The great cloud of witnesses who were the forerunners of faith were all recorded in the Bible to encourage us and remind us of the necessity and possibilities of being faith warriors in our generation.
By faith, by faith, by faith…
Each of the characters worthy of mentioned were all champions of faith, taking up the precious content spaces in the Bible to modelled to us what it means to take steps of faith daily in our walk with God.
Faith requires acts of obedience, if not, it is dead.
When we take these 2 words ‘by faith’ seriously, it exemplifies the true reality of what we believe in our every thought, speech and deed.
Importantly, it’s the ultimate God pleaser!
You can actually go through the motion as a Christian without pleasing God!
Take a minute to digest that thought!
I believe every child desires to please his/her parent and truly, God desires that from us too and that requires faith.
Don’t be mistaken by all the ‘By faith’ examples that you read in Hebrews 11 that they are one off, radical faith decisions made by different ones.
Each of those characters embodied God’s truth and grew in their faith journey with God through little steps of obedience. No short cuts! No mystery!
