Do you truly believe that God has a plan for your life?
Jeremiah 29:11 MSG says “…I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out – plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.”
God has designed you and thus, He has a perfect plan for your life, a wonderful, purposeful and fulfilling one.
Our God is a God of victory and His plans for us are designed strategically for victory as well, disabling and disclosing all the entrapment and attacks from the enemy when we learn to use His GPS for our lives.
I’m sure you’ve used a GPS before if you drive or use one of those running apps to track your runs.
Do you know what GPS stands for? Global Positioning System.
Basically, it lets you know where you are and where you are going anywhere on Earth.
Wow! Technological advancements can be mind-blowing when you check out how Google Maps work.
Well, wouldn’t that be really cool if you have a Kingdom GPS?
God has one installed for every child of His too.
You definitely have one. It’s called ‘God’s Planning Stratagem’.
The battle has already been won on the cross through the life and death of Jesus and God being the author and perfecter of our faith, knows the route and destination for us.
As the Psalmist wrote in 139:13-16 (MSG), “Like an open book you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day.”,
our days are already ordained for us by God and it is all about being connected to Him and activating our daily communion with Him.
God doesn’t want to tell you exactly where and how to get to your destination, but He wants to lead you with His GPS.
That has always been the heart of God, to journey with us, lead and guide us, desiring us to trust and obey His leading instead of revealing to us the endpoint.
More often than not, by not revealing, God’s intention is directed towards protection and preparation which you need more than you know or want.
Whether it is a long or short, easy or tough, bumpy or smooth route, God’s GPS ensures an empowering and exciting journey as you walk with Him.
Why a stratagem?
I used this word because it is usually used as the unproven or unconventional approach, which very much leads us to what I call ‘Kingdom Principles’ or ‘Kingdom Tactics’.
Doesn’t it make sense? Jesus illustrated this excellently in the gospels:
To find your life, die to self.
To be a leader, serve as a servant.
To repay your enemies, love them.
To be the first, be the last.
To be rich, give all you have.
God always has His ways and Kingdom strategies.
But His ways may not be accepted by the world, sometimes despised.
In this race of life that all of us are running together, you and I have a customised GPS for the route that we need to embark on.
While it is always wise to run alongside others in a race, you need to always keep check of your own GPS in accordance with the word of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit.
God’s Kingdom principles and truths will not change but it may be manifested and experienced in varied expressions, thus the need to get accustomed to your personalised GPS which God has installed for you.
You may think you know the way, but our sovereign God always has a better and more purposeful one for you.
Turning on His GPS is a choice.
What is your choice today?
Points for Reflection & Prayer:
- Is there an area in your life in this season that needs God’s direction? Whose GPS are you using?
- Does the term ‘stratagem’ resonate with you? What do you think God wants you to do in your situation right now?
- Meditate on Jeremiah 29:11 and recommit your life to God and align it to His plans, His ways.
My version of GPS is “God’s Providence & Sovereignty” – this is what I rely on when I need to get my bearings right.
Amen. Thats a wonderful acronym Chia! I believe out of His love for us, He provides, and out of His Character, He decides and dictates.
