Run with Joy
Joy is a fruit of the spirit. It can’t be faked, and it is not dependent on the circumstances you face.
It has to be cultivated, and it is bore out of an intimate relationship with Christ.
Building the engine, perfecting the self
To achieve one’s dream target race timing, the intuitive thing to do is to train and run faster. Is that a wise strategy to adopt?
Don’t stop!
For anyone who has never done a proper push up, even 5 repetitions is a torture. But in order to gain, one has to build up and do more.
SCARY TRAILS
For a fleeting moment on that creepy trail, I had felt alone and vulnerable, but then when I remembered I was running with six others, my fears dissipated and disappeared.
Red, yellow and green!
Have you even been in a situation where God told you clearly, “HEY, WATCH MY RED LIGHT!”, and you went ahead anyway? Were you disappointed or angry when that plan failed?
Reject Rituals
Rules and rituals are there for a reason, but it is never to replace the need to love one another.
Religion, apart from loving people, is not only pointless – it displeases the Lord.
Ultimately, it has to do with the motives of our hearts – why we do what we do.
Be a Reflector!
What are you reflecting? What do your actions or inactions reflect to others? Are you deflecting others from getting to know the King? Be it running or going about your daily activities – Have you been reflecting the One who created you?
Crisis or Christ Is?
What is a crisis to you? How do you cope with one? The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has turned out to one of the biggest crisis faced in the history of humankind. The last time the earth was so impacted globally was when God sent the great flood and allowed Noah and his family to survive.
POWER OF ENCOURAGEMENT
It’s Official – Running is Good for You!
The U.K. National Health Service states that ‘Regular running can reduce your risk of long-term illnesses, such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes and stroke.
It can also boost your mood and keep your weight under control.’
Prayer Reinvented: Frustration to Flow
Training is much needed at any and every stage of our lives when it comes to becoming spiritually mature in the Kingdom of God.
And as the saying goes, the earlier the better and the sooner you’re trained, the more prepared you will be to fight this good fight of faith.
Training Matters!
Training is much needed at any and every stage of our lives when it comes to becoming spiritually mature in the Kingdom of God.
And as the saying goes, the earlier the better and the sooner you’re trained, the more prepared you will be to fight this good fight of faith.
The ‘F’ Words
The F words – Faith and fitness. What has faith got to do with fitness? I know what some of you are thinking:
“I don’t like to exercise”
“I am too busy to even think about exercising”
“ I am going to get too sweaty!”
“I hate going outdoors!”
“No way! I can’t even run 2km!”
“I could just go on diet if I wanted to lose weight”
“UUrghhhh….gyms are too crowded”
These are common protests.
Whilst we hear a lot about faith-based life, the emphasis on being faith-led seems to be lost on how we manage fitness.
Fusion of Spiritual & Physical Fitness
as a fitness trainer, if I had instructed my clients to eat breakfast on the day of our training session, but not to eat again for the rest of the week, they would have thought I was crazy and not kept me employed very long.
Yet, how many Christians get one spiritual meal a week sitting in church and then starve themselves for the remaining 6 days?
MAKE IT FUN!
Yes, you are free to enjoy yourself with God. Is this the kind of relationship you have with God? Jesus loved His Father, and He certainly loved life!
Running is Intentional Worship
Running is intentional. Worship is also intentional. God created us for worship and for His pleasure. But how and why do we do it?
Soul Health
Your physical health is great. How is the health of your soul? Health of our eternal souls is of the greatest value.
Die to live anew
Physical disciplines involve repetitive movement. Once you master the form, you flow into the zone, and switches onto auto-pilot mode.
Breathe
We were given breath to worship as one. We are to come together under the authority of the One who gave it all, as a united KINGDOM FAMILY.
Be a doer
I snoozed my alarm clock on my iPhone for the third time, turned and stuffed my head under my pillow and, tried to forget my decision to go for a morning jog, my little date with God.
“Just 5 more minutes sleep maybe…”
“How about an afternoon jog or maybe tomorrow morning…”
Knock, Knock? Who’s there?
But what if God comes knocking at our doors? Do we gladly open the doors of our hearts to him? Do we oblige only when it’s to our convenience? Do we acknowledge Him only when our “mood” is good? Or only when He has brought us presents that we have asked for?
No pain, No Gain
It was hard, but as I leaned into God and asked Him for strength, I found it. Let’s not forget that when we run we run for the glory of God, our running and experiencing His presence whilst we are out there gives Him pleasure, so don’t think that strength only comes when we are doing a deeply spiritual task, because that’s bad theology.
Sow the seeds
God positions us, for a purpose so that the prosperity of God will be ushered to all His people.
What a powerful statement to bring us, believers, back to the source of focus on the blesser, not so much the blessing.
Remember that behind every blessing, there is a blesser, and He is none other than our Heavenly Father.
Value of a soul
Our desire to grow spiritually and walk with God is just as important as our hunger to see lives coming into the kingdom of God.
By default, if we’re walking closely with God, that intimacy will naturally & instinctively stir up the PASSION in us to go and find lost souls.
The HEART OF EVANGELISM is all about the value of a soul.
GPS: God’s Planning Stratagem
Do you truly believe that God has a plan for your life?
Jeremiah 29:11 MSG says “…I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out – plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.”
God has designed you and thus, He has a perfect plan for your life, a wonderful, purposeful and fulfilling one.
God provides
The God who loves us is a God of providence.
When Jesus says, “Come follow me…” (Matthew 4:19), He was asking Peter and Andrew to follow Him wholeheartedly, trusting that the decision made is the best one for their lives, taking into consideration their basic needs and their future plans.
What does it mean to know God
GINOSKO The word above is in Greek, which also means "know". And the definition of that word is to learn to know; to...
What is Kingdom Runners?
Strategizing like a ‘Hinge Ministry’ type of movement, Kingdom Runners purposes to connect, leverage and support Christians to rediscover God’s purposes in their lives.
God ignited this dream in the founder’s heart about a decade ago through a vision of a multitude of believers gathering to run a marathon together as a community, praying for God’s kingdom, fighting for kingdom causes and finishing the race together as a body.
