My gym’s community group chat was blowing up.
I train at one of Hong Kong’s top CrossFit boxes, and recently two of our members became global champions at the 2025 Masters CrossFit Games!

Our gym’s program is designed so that everyday fitness enthusiasts train right alongside elite athletes.
Several community members shared their pride, boasting to others that they train at the gym of world champions!
This feeling is different from simply rooting for your city’s sports team where you sit back and watch them play.

Week after week, we follow the same plan.
Sure, they train twice a day, six days a week, while I manage two or three.
Their weights are heavier, and I scale some movements — like using bands for pull-ups instead of doing muscle-ups.
But we log on to the same app, are coached by the same team, lift with the same equipment, and even share the same showers and water fountain.

What I love most isn’t just the world-class coaching or the presence of champions, but the culture — inclusive, encouraging, and kind.
They gladly share their glory with us, welcoming and guiding those who aren’t at their level.

And that points me to an even greater truth: the greatest Champion of all, Jesus Christ, has welcomed me.
He calls me part of His body, His Church.
While I won’t die on a cross for the sins of the world, He calls me to take up my cross daily and follow Him.
His Word is our training manual, His Spirit our Coach.
Though we stumble and fail, He transforms us day by day to reflect His likeness.

Just as my gym shares in the triumphs of its champions, we — as His people — share in Christ’s perfect victory.
That’s what it means to reflect His glory: His win becomes our joy.

Go:

  • Do you see yourself as a spectator of Christ’s work, or are you stepping into His training program of transformation?
  • Does the call to imitate Christ intimidate you? Take heart — His program is designed for everyone, from beginners to the spiritually seasoned.
