Go Show Your Light: Shine for Jesus

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

Take a moment to reflect on your life today—are you a salty Christian?
Are you shining brightly for Jesus?
Is the world around you impacted by your presence and how you live?
When Jesus says, “In the same way…,”
He’s telling us that it’s not about who we are, where we are, or what we do—it’s about how we live as born-again believers, called to be the salt and light of our generation.
Whether you’re a coach, athlete, trainer, writer, missionary, or even an administrative manager, your role is to be a source of salt and light, so that your life reflects God’s presence and brings transformation to the community you’re placed in.
Jesus said that He is “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6) and that He is also “the light of the world.” As His followers, that same light is now in us. Amen?
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
John 8:12
People need to see Jesus through us.
I remember a pastor once told me, “Only if needed, speak.”
Wow! That means my life should naturally reflect Jesus, the gospel, and how God designed us to live, and only when necessary, I should speak and share the gospel.
That’s deep!
If I truly live out what the Bible teaches and follow Jesus’ ways, then my life will look like His when He walked the earth 2,000 years ago.
Jesus was the “Living Word,” a “walking bible”, the Word made flesh who lived among us (John 1:14).
God has planted in me a passion for running and a vision of being a ‘Kingdom Runner.’
As a runner who embraces that vision, running has become both a spiritual and physical discipline in my life.
Recently, I organized a 24-hour prayer and run fundraiser for family causes and movements, called the “24/7 Legacy Relay.”
It was a powerful initiative that united the body of Christ in prayer, belief, giving, volunteering, and standing together for a cause that supports families.
For this, I formed a core team of seven runners, each representing different generations of a family, to anchor the full 24 hours.
It was truly a fellowship of Christian athletes, choosing to be part of something meaningful for Jesus.
Ultimately, our goal was to come together, bringing the light of Christ and shining it into the community.
God can use your calling, your passions, and your gifts to fulfill His mission and the Great Commission.
He wants to fan the flame within you so that wherever you are, you are empowered to burn brightly for Him and show His light in the darkness of the world.
